This is a great read I thought. Some people identify HFA as schizoid. Nancy McWilliams seems very eloquent to me.

Yeah, this paper pegs me pretty well.

Interestingly enough, I was almost DXed as "schizoid."

An interesting read, I have normal functioning schizoid personality traits included with my AS diagnosis.

I was diagnosed Schizoid Personality disorder at one point. After I looked up what it meant, I discovered that the reason why I was diagnosed SPD was most likely because of how much isolation I require. The person who I work with didn't pay attention to the fact that it was because of how sensitive I am to my environment and not because I just didn't want to be around people. After we discussed this, it turned a light on in her head and she changed the diagnoses.

I've thought I could be schizoid and score high on schizoid tests.

Yes. Stimming, passionate fascinations, maybe an ability to focus on an obscure esoteric position to fruition or futility, not looking into people's eyes, an ability to imagine or pay attention to other people's lives very well, confusion over body language and emotional language... I'm just throwing out thoughts...

I seem to fit the DSM criteria for SPD (besides the PDD part, of course). I also heard one of my doctors mutter "maybe schizoid" once.

Schizoid doesn't really know what itself is, or better, professionals don't know what to do with it.

Is is...a condition brought on by forced social and emotional isolation in childhood that creates a socially and emotionally distant personality and solitary pursuits and interests?

Is it...a form of autism that's inherited (Schizoid PD of childhood for example)?

The latter would be an ASD, but the former wouldn't be.

My brother was followed by a psychiatrist who warned that I would turn into a "schizoid" if I wasn't taken care of (she turned to be right)
