Took this face recognition test on the BBC website. I scored below average in both categories, recognition and temporal. I scored 87% and 61% and the averages are 92% and 68%.

The test takes about 5 minutes see how you do.

I got a 95 for the first one and an 86 for the second one. I wonder what that means.

95 and 86 here. I don't think pictures of a face access the same part of the brain as when you're actively interpreting a social encounter with another person.

I scored 100% in recognition, and 95% in temporal memory.

Yeeah!! Reigning champion!! :king:

I should note, though, that there were two pictures I thought I had seen before, but it turned out I didn't. But that isn't subtracted from any of the scores.

I got 75 and 83.

I don't think this test is relevant to autism per se, but is relevant to prosopagnosia (face blindness) that many with autism experience. I often have trouble remembering faces, and although I did better at this test than I thought I would I still did below average.

Recognition score: 166 %
Temporal memory score: 50 %

"In real life" my long term memory seems pretty solid and this type of short term memory almost non-existent, so I guess I performed to my “level”, but it had nothing to do with the faces. I remembered the pictures. The four mistakes I made were all in similar type black and white pictures with no other detail than the face. I noticed even while looking at the pictures, how I looked other things like clothing and surroundings. I still remember the details vividly, and probably will even tomorrow, but recognizing these people with other outfits and while they are walking by, is another story. Like stated above, for an autistic person there are also other factors affecting the recognition process, like social anxiety and not being able to look at faces in the first place.

100% recognition, 62% temporal memory.

Does this explain why I immediately recognise actors I've seen before, but take ages to work out where?

45% and 54%. I've always known that I'm bad at recognising people, but I didn't realise that I was quite as bad as that!
