It seems like everything does to me! Earlier I was watching a film with loads of spiders, and I just couldn't even focus due to some flies in my vision.
That's not actually my usual problem, though... I typically become distracted mostly by my mind, thinking about something irrelevant and then building up emotions attached to it - ones completely unrelated to the task at hand. This does happen mostly when I'm not interacting with anything myself...
Now, I'm wondering... it kind of seems obvious that in order to enjoy something one needs to remain concentrated on it (or should I say 'mindful'?) - I actually found this out not through the subtle differences in strength of concentration between movies etc. but due to chemical interventions which serve as clear contrasts. That is, cannabis, which seems to improve the ability to concentrate... now at one point I also added in a dissociative, which seems to improve upon the subjective experience of art... and it's incredible, I go from being distracted 100 times in a movie (having to constantly recall what I just missed due to irrelevant thinking etc.) to not missing a frame.
This seems to especially impact upon emotions felt in accordance with the art, which reminds me of how immersed children can be in 'other worlds' - the reason they can easily get frightened. So, my question is... is this solely due to concentration, breathwork, or is it just the result of the altered states? (Or possibly, could concentration result in an altered state that enables more wonderful feelings?)
