Do you think a a lot?
Do your interests and obsessions involve thinking about them?

You don't have to be thinking to be thinking. Thought can be unconscious as well as conscious.

Too much.

I think about not only my special interests, but also things that happen to me in the day. I replay events in my head and traumatise myself with the endless number of social situations I made a mess of. And just random thoughts that come into my head triggered by any sensory input at the moment.

Yeah, sometimes I want to beat my brains in because I'm trying to sleep and I'm exhausted and it won't stop going at 5000mph.

I guess with enough beer I could stop thinking (although I generally just start rambling about philosophy or religion or something). Otherwise, I think 100% of the time.

Either I can't seem to think straight at all, or I think to much.

This, answer, is very good.

I also appreciate the rest of your answers, this is very interesting to me.

I think constantly. I am always trying to figure something out. I have had people tell me I think too much and my response to them is that they breathe too much. To me, thinking all of the time is as natural as I imagine breathing is to a normal person, so stopping either is equally absurd.

I can't stop myself. Even when meditating very deeply.

I'm pretty sure the only time I'm not thinking is when I'm seizing.

I'm always brainstorming. That's a good thing (I want to be a writer) and a bad thing (migraines).

I can relate to this quite a bit. Thats why I take meds, to slow down the thinking loops and to stop obsessing about my social mistakes as much. It gets really fustrating because I tend to overdramatize things in my head.

Yes...

This might be a stupid question, but do NT's go for periods of time without thinking? Do they have the capacity to give their brain a rest when it needs it?

I find that if I watch a movie or a TV show, I can relax a little bit. I guess I'm still thinking about what I'm watching, but it's really the closest thing that I can do that slows my brain down for a few minutes.
