As Aspies we know our condition is often referred to as "mild." We must first acknowledge that the "mild" description comes from NTs. Considering that, of course compared to our brethren Auties to NTS we appear "mild." The fact is that Aspies we are by defintion also Auties as we are on the spectrum. My point is we have many of the same behavioral idosyncracies as Auties only our outward appearance may not signal that to NTs so they call us "mild."
We are caught in a semantical problem caused by the describing persons (NTs) perspective. First, we nee to educate NTs that Aspies are Auties. Although we do not have all the observable traits, we do have the behaviors. Instead of "mild" we should be described as having "hidden" or "stealth" autism.
I would appreciate comments or suggestions about this theory.
