Does anybody else have thoughts or emotions come out in their bodies? It was pointed out to me that my upper arms go red and I was asked what this means. I did not know they were burning until I was asked. When I looked at them and touched them, I was surprised. I know it is something, but I don't know what. Does this happen to anyone else?

It is not uncommon for one's emotions to caused changes in the body (and vice-versa).

Anger may cause a person's pupils to dilate, nostrils to flare, and jaw to clench.

Embarrassment may cause blushing/flushing of the skin. So might sexual arousal.

What were you thinking about just before your friend pointed out the redness of your upper arms?

When I get mad or upset, the top tips of my ears glow red.

Thank you for the answers. It was a doctor who asked and we covered a number of topics. I think it might come along from feeling pressured. He was really nice, so I don't mean that he was pressuring me. I mean I had so much to say and it doesn't come out so well. I think it is some kind of a build up.

One of my ears burns and not from being touched. My brother and my youngest son get red ears, too. I think for me that comes with being tired.

Everything is connected, eh?

Oh, submitted too quickly. I have also been wondering if there are differences among our population in the way our whole bodies are wired? It is a theory I am playing with, and I may never know the answer. For example, my teeth do not freeze very well at the dentist. If a tooth at the back is supposed to freeze, for example, it will not freeze at all and my front lip freezes. I have an excellent, experienced dentist. I have a nerve in a place where is doesn't belong and I have a nerve in a place where it should not be. I have some synesthesia and certain words have textures. I wonder if it has anything to do with the way peripheral nerves are mapped and bring information back to the brain. I don't know if I am making sense. It is just one of those thoughts that I entertain. Just curious.
