Does anyone here wish you could communicate like Sooty? Tapping on something then whispering in someone's ear each time you want to say something, otherwise being quiet all the time? Or does anyone here actually communicate this way?

I know it's still communicating, but I don't think I will be as shy communicating this way as what I am speaking out loud like everyone else does. But because everyone's expected to be the same, I think people would start thinking I'm freaky, I'm talking about people in the street. If somebody asked me something like what time the bus comes at a bus stop, me going up to their ear to speak might frighten them off.

But does anyone wish you could get away with communicating like this? Do you think it would be easier? It's just a thought.

Communicating like Sweep would be interesting too, but I don't think people would always know what I'm saying, unless it's just a one-word answer in the same tone of voice you would answer.

I don't know who Sooty is, but I wouldn't like being that close to people.

Edit: I just looked up Sweep on Wikipedia.

Quote:
Probably his most unusual characteristic is his method of communication. It consists of a loud high pitched squeak that gains its inflection from normal speech and its rhythm from the syllables in each word. The rest of the cast could understand Sweep perfectly, and would indirectly translate for the viewer.

I don't think that'd work with my monotone voice. Maybe the translator would be nice. :P

No, whispering in someone's ear would mean to get close to them and i'd hate that. Furthermore, i avoid verbal communication as best i can.
