I'm an aspie, but I haven't been officially diagnosed yet. The question whether to get a diagnose or not has popped up many times, but it would be rather for my own clarity.

While I'd keep telling myself that I can cope well, I often find myself in situations that clearly show that things didn't go so well as I have thought. It's painful to realize and face the truth sometimes. If I had an official diagnosis, it might at least be a certain explanation for the way I am, so that I (and others) could come to terms with it.

I haven't gotten any diagnose in my country of residence, because I could not afford it. My health insurance may have covered the cost, but I didn't want any authorities to be aware of my condition, since I already have a "sensory disability" that is already giving me enough to fight against prejudices. Right now, I'm living in Thailand and was trying to find some places that would deal with autistic adults, but I had no such luck, because the few places I found were only dealing with children.

Are any of you living in Asia, and if so, how do you cope?
