I often feel nauseous for no apparent reason. Right now I felt like I have to vomit every minute for 4 hours. It never really happens, though. It's not linked to eating, it just appears out of nowhere. This usually happens at least once a week.

Do you experience nausea too? Is it part of our weak Aspie stomachs?

How long have you had this problem? Have you spoken to a doctor about it? It might not be a bad idea to do so, just in case.

I experienced what you speak of for three years... docs kept saying I was fine... then got an infection in my appendix three times... they would treat it and send me home. About a year later the nausea was so bad that eventually my intestines began to hurt.

Finally after many hospitalizations one doctor cared enough to look into things.. I had two large slow growing tumors in my colon. An infection in my intestines that had I not gone to the hospital when I did would have killed me.

Why did the doctors not even consider it? I was 32 years old - supposedly too young for such a thing...

Not trying to scare you but nausea should not be treated lightly, especially if you have not had issues all your life. I always had severe intestinal issues ie: constipation and slow moving intestines. But NOT nausea.. not until things became serious.

Be on the safe side and get yourself checked out.

I never heard of an ''Aspie stomach'' before.

By the way, stomach/bowel issues are mostly caused by too much stress or anxiety, and stress and anxiety is common in Aspies so that is what causes stomach issues, not the AS itself.

Yeah, go see a doctor. Just in case. Nausea is a very general symptom, and it can be related to many things both physical and mental.

Sometimes synesthesia makes me extremely nauseous. esp when I have a bad stomach or light nausea. Anyway if you're throwing up green stuff and are not able to go to the toilet go to the doc immediately.

I read about a possible link between IBS and autism...though autism is linked to EVERYTHING apparently so I remain to be convinced.

does it seem to relate to stress?

for me, nausea is related to adrenal exhaustion primarily resulting from decades of undiagnosed hypothyroid, but for me, it can end up with projectile vomiting. I keep hydrocortisone cream on hand for such times -- a dab on my wrist usually smooths things out for a while.
