The phone rang and I was asked to participate in a survey, answering a few questions. I asked which institution was asking, because they had said the name too quickly and unclearly. Then I asked what the goal of the survey was, but to this question I didn't get an answer because the caller didn't know the answer. So I declined participation.

I never know if I'm the only person in the world who makes decisions like this, maybe NTs are more prone to cooperate without caring so much about the details? And what about other aspies?

Sometimes I go with the flow, sometimes I do not. It just depends on the situation and my mood.

I would deny that, too. Calling random people on the phone and even not knowing what the purpose of the survey is, that is very very unprofessional.
I don't like such people calling me anyway. Survey is though much better than sales.
I would only participate if I see a sense in it. And that I did several times anyway

Knowing the exact goal of the survey influences the answers, so I wasn't expecting that. But at least some very general answer would've been ok for me.

Too many surveys. Everyone is constantly bombarding me with surveys these days. I automatically decline to take any and all surveys unless I am actually compensated (not just entered into a drawing) for my time at the same rate I could make money by doing work. Naturally, I don't take many surveys because everyone wants me to work for free.

A phone call like this is probably a scam, though. They intentionally slur the words so you can't understand them.

Yes, they tried twice to evade saying the name of the institute doing the survey, and never told me whom the institute was doing it for.

I wouldn't have done it either. It's a matter of personal privacy. You don't REALLY know who is on the other end of the line and what their intentions are. It could be legit, or it could be someone trying to gather information on you like a government organization or a corporation you have dealings with.

I'm not really able to go with the flow, either. Though, if I were able, I wouldn't have done so in this situation.
