I constantly do that. In bed I usually sleep on my stomach with my arms under my body. When I sit on a chair I often find that my hands have found their way under my thighs. (Not sexual in any way. ) I just like pressure on my arms/hands.

Do you do the same?

The only way I stop this is playing with something in my hands.

I also always want to sit on a foot. Its pretty funny I am sitting on my right foot have one hand tucked under my thigh and a pen in the other.

When I lie on my stomach, I often put my arms under me so that they are directly beneath my hip bones. I do this subconsciously, but I realized that the reason I do it is that, if I don't, my body sinks into the mattress and puts an uncomfortable amount of pressure on my abdomen. :?

Not sure it that's the same as what you're talking about or not...

I do that, but I also like to sit with my legs/feet under my thighs as well.

I only sit on my hands to keep myself from stimming.

I sit on my hands so they will stay they will keep warm. Mostly I cross my arms and put my hands under the opposite arm. I also sit on my foot until it falls asleep. It kinda feels like I have to keep my hands "tucked in". Idk how to explain it. It is a comforting thing.

Only to stay warm, but other than that, no.

It is very bad for you to suppress your stims. It can even cause depression. We stim for a reason - allow yourself that freedom if not for anything other than your health. I made myself a stimming necklace - it helps heaps and is acceptable by all the NT's that have no clue why you do it so much.

As for this post answer - I sit on my hands and feet too. A lot of the time I put my foot to sleep then limp around swearing to never do it again...

A good explanation is here:

I agree with a lot of his stuff, only occasionally I go eh? This article niggles a bit - but not as much as most out there.

When I was younger, I used to enjoy sitting on my hands, mostly because I liked the feeling of the pressure on my hands, at least I think that was the reason. I don't do it much anymore though.

I don't sit on my arms. But I always sit on my knees, with my legs underneath me. It's the only way I'm comfortable. It eliminates a lot of sensory issues.

I slept with my arms away from me last night, and I slept on my neck and it's sore. :x

Sleeping on hands: It helps!
