So you are sick. Ill. Upset stomache, fever.. whatever. What treatment do you expect from people around you? Do you want to be left alone to get better, or do you want to have someone fuss over you?

I'd like to have a fine man fuss over me, whenever I get sick.

I like to be fussed over...

I think this has somthing to do with my Mum, when I was ill she was wonderful, the perfect mummy. we otherwise had, and still do to a degree, a difficult relationship.

Even now as an adult, she is her most interested in me when I have been ill. She talks and talks about her own and others health problems constantly and recently streched out a conversation about my tonsilitis of xmas 2004 for half an hour! She should have been a nurse...

I can't stand being fussed over when I'm ill. Just make sure I've got a cuppa, and the TV remote, then buzz off and let me suffer in peace :)

Fussed over, definitely. And it's so easy when my mother only lives three miles away. Usually whenever I'm sick, I go and camp out over there and get her to make some home made chicken noodle soup for me.

I don't know about the autistic/nonautistic. Unless you mean do I get more autistic? If so, when I'm sick I probably do. Being sick is a bit stressful and stress tends to bring out more autiness in me.

To verify, I mean, are you autistic, and do you, or do you not like being fussed over. thats why there are two choices for both autists and and NT.

I don't want alot of people knowing I'm an aspie, otherwise I'll be either fussed, patronised, or (could be) exploited on TV.

Well Fuzzy,

Now you know! NEXT time give the less likely option FIRST! You should have asked if they were non autistic etc... first.

Oh well, most of the people here probably ARE autistic, and the fact that 100% answered as autistic DOES support that.

YEAH! I had a problem, and had two bad things happen, and people thought it was due to the problem. It WASN'T! Unless they REALLY know you, and know that aspergers is something acquired VERY early, they may treat you different, etc...

I used to ALWAYS let people know how I wanted to be treated. I still do sometimes. People NEVER listen. EVEN when it is in their best interest to listen, etc... they DON'T!

It depends what mood I'm in. I do like to be fussed over but when I'm ill and it's making me angry, leave me alone. If I don't get angry I'm fine, I like having people around as it can take my mind off it.
