Does anyone have posteriorly rotated ears or a flat face?

I've been studying the reported features:

http://depts.washington.edu/dbpeds/Dysm ... 282%29.pdf
http://www.stat.missouri.edu/faculty/fl ... mun_12.PDF

I have posteriorly rotated ears and a flat face/flat malar region (used mirrors to check the side view to be sure).

I may also have slightly wide set eyes also.

Just interested what others may have.

1. No I don't

2. I learnt on a course that no two people have exactly the same shaped ears

3. I never knew Autism had ''physical features'' until this very minute

It's not the shape of the ear it's the tilt/angle.

Have a look at the links I supplied and you will find lots of interesting scientific information about it.

I can't read the doc, my Adobe update issues are driving me crazy lately.

Is the malar region *above* the cheeks? I look squished in right above my eyes at the beginning of my forehead. That's always bothered me. If it's the actual cheeks, I have wide cheeks and they're not flat at all. In fact, they're apple-ish.

I don't think I have a flat face or anything. When I was a child my eyes looked very wide-set but I now know they're exactly average, right in the middle -- I know this because I know my pupillary distance for when I need to buy glasses.

My ears are pretty much "regular."

I think malar is the medical name for the cheekbone area.

Thank you. :D Nope, very pronounced there, both in width and depth.

I have a lot of dysmorphic features:
Posteriorly rotated, low set ears
a-symmetrical face
thin upper lip
corners of mouth turn downward
hair whorls
clynodactyl pinky fingers (5th fingers bend inward toward other fingers).

I don't know what these have to do with autism, but I think something went wrong genetically.
My parents thought I was cute though. In spite of all this I don't look too bad. I have a small round childlike face.

wow, I can add another one to the list, which I didn't know was a potential feature of autism, the clynodactyl 5th finger - thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Yay!

I had a post about clinodactyly a long time ago....and everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

(Well, I am, but...)

I have the curved fingers, flat malar region, asymmetrical face, rotated ears, thin upper lip, etc.

Whenever I see this thread, "autistic morphology" I think it has to do with the morphology of the word autism which I guess would be aut+ ism - meaning something like "selfism". This is what comes from studying linguistics.

I have a flat, asymmetrical, longer than average face so it applies to me

It looks like I have practically no cheekbones unless I laugh or smile very
forcefully

I'd definitely say my autistic genes show in my face

I'd say it's nature's way of saying 'autistic genes - beware!'
