There was a related thread about this but I'm unable to find it now. – Very often, daily, several times a day, I find myself like lecturing in my mind on diverse subjects to an imagined audience. In fact, I don't really imagine the audience, I just see and hear me delivering a speech or something. I don't hear or otherwise receive particular questions, I give those lectures spontaneously, like being invited to do so. Wierd thing is that I somehow observe myself from behind, visualizing the other me speaking.
Also, when watching TV especially if it is an interesting film or documentary (I never watch reality TV), I tend to insert myself into the story and start to talk with (or to) the other characters. I don't identify myself as any one of them, I kind of add myself as an extra person in the current story, again like being invited to appear.
I'm a diagnosed aspie since 2002, but ten years ago this kind of behavior didn't come up in the conversations between me and the team who gave me the diagnosis. It was there, sure enough, but I didn't mention it because I thought it wasn't relevant. And they didn't ask, for that matter.
Any comments?
I do this exact thing all the time, actually I wish other people could do it as well, especially with their favorite tv shows because it kind of brings a whole new sensation of experiencing it and it makes the experience a lot more immersive.
I do this for first person games as well, and I find that playing Skyrim (the elder scrolls) is best for this because it's so diverse while being one character, so I can put myself in the role completely.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who can do this lol, you're the first one I've heard about that was able to.
