I visit aan autism center with psychologists and psychiatrists for two years.
I got a re-evaluation and my level of functionality went lower.
It is not that my functionality decreased but that it did not improved with intervention and in the beginning they labeled my "high-functioning", (first Aspergers, than Autistic Disorder), but it is changed to "mediocre functioning" or "severe dysfunction" in some vital areas (but I am verbal, though very mute).
My executive dysfunction is assessed as severe, my sensory integration issuses are assessed as severe, my withdrawel is assessed as severe with barely making contact to people, especially when I do not know them.
It says that I do not expressively bring myself into danger, but cannot pull myself out of dangerous situations (not enough Theory of Mind to read peoples intentions or for example avoiding an approaching car).
I got assessed as not being able to succeed in a job-interview or to fit the circumstances of a "neurotypical" working place and not being able to take care of myself without another person (housing, cleaning, doing crocery, feeding myself).
I am told not to be able to ride a care ever or raise children ever.

Every day I am in a mess because I know that one should be able to archieve all this and I am just somehow not able to do it and then I feel sad about it and think, that I can improve, but I don't know if I can ever improve.

Wow. That's really tragic. I feel for you. It must so hard being dependent on others for basic needs. There's nothing I can offer but I wish you lots of luck with whatever you can do.

Thank you.
I hope, that I can shift my focus from all what I should be able to archieve back to what I like doing and I am good in and I enjoy, if it is classified as "functional" for society or not.
I am very good at drawing for example.
There were people who saw my drawings and they want to make an exhibition with it, but the "urge" to be able to function in society blocks my intuition in drawing.

I can't imagine how cruel it must be to be re-evaluated and find all that out.

Eloa I've noticed over the years that my own level of functioning varies. You might just be at a point in your life where you have too much on your plate and the testing done on you is reflecting that. I have read many of your posts on WP and am confident that you are aware that these types of evaluations are just a 'snap shot' of a specific moment in your life. Heck even a bad night of sleep can affect the results of the evaluation. Keep your chin up, don't get discouraged. We all have to play the hand we're dealt in life and all we can do is keep moving forward. I know that your posts on WP have helped many people on WP so never forget you are a valued member of this community and you have much to contribute.

Just because someone tells you something is true, doesn't make it true. Maybe the evaluation is accurate and maybe it isn't, but it shouldn't affect you much. You're still the same person you were a week ago, right?

Keep trying to improve, but try not to be too hard on yourself.

Something that might help is to keep a journal of things. For instance, say your goal is to talk more and make eye contact with people. Make an effort every day, and then at the end of the day write down in the journal how many times you made eye contact with a stranger or said something. Make it like a game during the day.

Progress with these things can be so slow that you don't feel like you're actually making progress, so sometimes it helps to keep a log so you can look at it and see for a fact that you are doing better than you were a month ago.

They determined my level of functionality based on the observation of 2 years and I admit that my executive function and everything is low and has ever been low.
It is only this though that I often have that I think I have to archieve all these things that people "normally" do archieve, though I know that "normally" does not really exsist, so maybe a better word is "adult milestones".
But on the other hand I have never been able to keep my focus on it, contrary, I am too much in my "own world".
But I do feel this "archieving the milestones", because you get confrontated with it anyway, but I have finished no education and I always had this thought, that I would want to push a "pause"-button so that the world around me pauzes and I get time to "catch in".
I want to get this "distraction" out of my head and draw.

edit: corrected english expression

Thank you all for answering.
I have to re-read it a couple times and make thoughts about it.

*edit* I pushed the send button too soon. In fact, before I even typed anything

I know exactly what you mean about the adult milestones. I lied to myself for most of my life telling myself there is nothing wrong while I pursued those milestones to prove to myself nothing is wrong. I don't think I was ever really happy until the day I said screw the milestones and allowed myself to be me.

Yes, I think that in the first assessment it seemed I had a "good day" (I had not, because doing the WAIS-test and all and folks walking in the building and the tension I felt was a bad day), but now they followed me for two years and "really" got to know the way I work (and they are good people).
I guess you cannot determine everything in a couple days of tests (especially for an adult and ruling out other conditions).
But I did not meet what they expect from a high-functioning autistic person and I am very tired from trying to meet anything now.

Thank you.
I do not really have "stories" in my head to write down, but I do draw.
But I often feel too distracted to perform good in drawing, it feels like I cannot give enough "gravity" to the pictures in my head to draw them accuratly as I see them, they are huge, they are very detailed and it is an efford to form it with the hand and I cannot tolerate any distraction like taking care of food or cleaning and everything.
Sometimes I succeed in it and it makes me very happy.
