Even though I am in my mid 20s I think I have the Emotional Quotient of a teenager.

I recently realised this. I am better at social situations now(I think). I think this because I can navigate a social situation without treating things-said literally and by ignoring them. Paraphrasing, giving the benefit of the doubt to the person on the other side of the conversation in a social situation. This has its drawbacks. I will not know for sure if a person is trying to mock/insult me. But I still am not able to do this during all the social situations (I am being a bit more asocial nowadays though). And a recent incident (emotional, that a girl initiated) made me feel that I have a EQ of a nerdy teen as I did not know how to react! No offence intended. I am a huge(may be the king) nerd/geek and am proud of it.

How many here feel the same?
How many here can navigate though an emotional situation comfortably? If yes, How do you do it? help us with tips.

P.S. I haven't had a relationship till now. If that matters.

Have you taken the EQ test to see what your score is:

I don't know that they equate with chronological ages though, just deficits in the respective areas.
