I have a problem with 'following through' on things. In other words, just getting things done. I also have trouble with consistency. I recently thought that I finally solved my problem with chores. Now I'm backsliding into my old habits. This happened a lot in school, and seems to be a general theme in my life.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any advice? Can you link me to any articles or recommend any books that can help me with this?

My biggest motivator is poverty and homelessness. If I don't work hard on what I want to achieve, the end result won't sit right with me.

I'm the same way. My attention span is shot, so I can't follow through on TV shows, books or movies with sequels. I prefer to focus on standalone movies and TV shows with standalone episodes (especially ones that are short, like 11-minute cartoons) As for books... forget it.

Yes. I just keep pushing myself and sometimes I don't follow through with it.

Aye - same as above.
Short attention span, but also the joy of argueing with yourself that - is this job worth my time? Do i really need to do it? If i leave it, whats the worst that will happen?

If i lived with someone more motivated maybe that would help :D

I definitely struggle with consistency and sometimes with follow-through. I have two main reasons for these struggles. First I have a lot of interests and I frequently lay one down in order to pick another one up. Second I fond my feelings very distracting, and I often search for the thing in my list of things needing done that seems like it will make me feel better. Naturally some things don't get much attention that way.

I seem to have a short attention span and inability to stay on task for everything UNLESS it's a currently active special interest.

I get this too. Still looking for a way to fix it.
