I would forget every problem I ever had in that moment as I ran for my life. And that's a BEAR, not a beat. Thanks spellcheck!

I literally laughed out loud; to simply type lol would not do that justice.

I waited for more RPG-like choices. :P

Chose the bear.

You wrote ''beat'' instead of ''bear'' in the poll question.

If a bear came into the room right when I was having one of my moments, I would probably stop right away, because something unusual and interesting is happening. I don't know what I'd actually do (be frightened I suppose), but the meltdown/outburst emotion would suddenly fizzle out.

He means Beast, not bear.

A beat snaps me out of it instantaneously.

A bear...not sure.

this is one of the situations that require instant solving, so i will snap out of the meltdown indeed.
i can hold back meltdowns untill it is safe to let go anyway, so snapping out of one wont be that much different; i wont meltdown as long as there is somethign more important around

Meltdown: I'd continue to meltdown as I ran out the door. I definitely know that's how my meltdowns work.

Shutdown: For this I have to say I don't know because its never happened, but when I'm in shutdown is much more dangerous for me than when I'm in meltdown. Someone can punch me when I'm in shutdown and I won't react in any way, if its a bad enough shutdown.

I thought you meant some kind of music, by the beat.

Bear would wake me up.

That is the same like being drunk and seeing a bear,
you are sober in no time.

I'd try to kill the bear for interrupting my meltdown.

Well, it would have to be quite a large koala bear.

The bear is likely to be intimidated by an autistic person having a meltdown. He will most likely back slowly out of the room and find a trash can to raid instead.

As for me--well, if this is one of the worse ones, I'm probably not going to be able to recognize the bear as a threat. Actually, I might not recognize the bear as a bear. More a blob of color in front of my eyes, making annoying sounds and adding to my overload.

That last answer is just classic. An autistic person is quite likely to not know what they would do in such an unfamiliar situation. We are concrete thinkers, after all. "Well, I've never been attacked by a bear before..."
