More research?
My special interests seems to always base around how much research I can do on the subject and my research seems to have delapodated away to nothing and its really frustrating, I really want to keep a hold of the interest and I feel like I could if only more research could come from it. What types of research and thinking do people do with their interests? I've had the interest before and I think that's why I'm struggling to come up with new research- incase anyone's had the interest as well and has any things I could cover its on the Narnia series, in particular Susan Pevensie- the same as before!

If I understand you correctly you are saying that you have exhausted all of the information you can find on your special interest, correct?
If so why not try doing something with the information you have? For instance write a short story (fan fiction) about Susan.

Well, That's sort of where the problem started, I write because I can't play the imaginary games I used to- my brain just doesn't seem to be able to do it any more
So I've got not one but two stories one the go which I'm struggling with now because I don't have the interest I did! It's so frustrating!

There's virtually zilch out there that I don't already know about my biggest SI (I Love Lucy), but I still make an effort to find new research sources. Reading books is your best bet to learn something new, I'd think. And for an SI where you are at an expert level of knowledge, try to be happy with learning ONE new fact. The only way I ever learn anything even remotely new about I Love Lucy is reading new books, and even then, most of the information is repetitive. But it just makes truly new finds all that more exciting, and the hunt for new information can be thrilling in and of itself.

Helinger: Well, try seeing accomplishment!
Nash: Is there a difference?
I think a lot of the problem comes from that my last interest introduced me to a lot of things- for the first time I was introduced to a romantic couple and learned how to write about that to the point it got quite descriptive and grown up for what I expected, I also really learned to draw, I spent so much time doing that sort of thing and it was great, I also found songs and did YouTube videos from those songs for my main characters.
I think then after a while the world of the story I wrote became a strong sub interest and I wrote loads of things about the past and present of the characters. I'm still sort of grieving that interest a bit too.
I feel like perhaps I need something new, some different way that I can connect with my interest and enjoy it.
I know it is possible because I know a lot of people have interests that are very narrow (types if paper fastenings being one) and they manage to keep the interest going for years, my last interest, I ran out of stuff to learn about that after a whole but I read into the history the characters had lived through and learned all sorts of stuf about history. I know most of the history of the Second World War and the medeival history that the world of Narnia is linked to is very dissimilar to the actual Narnian one. For some reason I get a strange feeling of dread every time I think of picking up a book an continuing the stories I've started or when I think of drawing something or watching the film again!
Sorry that was a bit of a rant- just having a very frustrating week!
