Im offically dx'd as aspie, am male, and am rather laid back.

Im an unusually fast walker, and might be consider 'hyper' by some.

But basically im not a nervous person.

But I when I started going to the local metro support group for aspies and auties I noticed many are nervous and fidget alot. Thier engines idle at a much higher rpm than I, and most people's.

Ladies in particular.

In fact the first meeting I went to- like all meetings of large groups- was a bit overwhelming. But I vowed to stay long enough to speak to atleats two particular people in the group before I left (two attractive women in seperate corners of the room ). As luck would have it I ended up in three way conversation with both of them at the same time. Both looked down alot and fidgeted with their hands. One of the ladies ( a seemingly confident leader in the group) would take paper napkins and tear strips and turn the strips into near origami while chatting with us.

So Im wonder if high-strungness is related to aspergers, and within aspergers is it related to gender?

So do you idle at a high rpm? Do you fidget. What is your gender, and neuro idenity ( to coin a phrase)?

I fidget constantly. Staying completely still is an impossibility. I can actually feel the anxiety building in me if I try.

I think it's basically stimming.

I was always very tense, nervous and high strung until I taught myself to relax my usually tense muscles and to breathe deep and slow, this calmed and relaxed me a lot, I recommend it

High-strung and fidgety, check! Need to be always in motion or heavily sedated to prevent it. My only successful jobs have been where I'm needed to move around and channel nervous energy. I'm also diagnosed with ADHD/Inattentive type (though I think they mean hyperactive/inattentive).
