Green, according to a previous post, you don't believe it is neurodevelopmental...

and what would you cure in adults, exactly? Would you take away my ability to create in a very personal and unique way? My ability to memorize minute details? If I were a child and still forming social connections, maybe... but as an adult, I don't want to be cured of anything.

There's nothing about me that needs to be cured and my fear of change has nothing to do with it. I enjoy being autistic. I enjoy being different and quirky. My autism makes me the unique and interesting individual that I am. Autism doesn't need to be cured any more than left-handedness or Homosexuality. All those three things are natural and things that are natural don't need to be cured.

I agree with CockneyRebel, I've never quite conformed to society's standards before and I never will because I value my individuality way too much for that to happen. Besides, I do have doubts about how this "cure" can actually work, if it means that I have to take drugs, sorry, I have many qualms against that. Also, the fact that Autism is probably the cause of how I think the way that I do, which other than the depression is a pretty nice way of thinking, means that I'm really not interested in a "cure". There's only proof that the neurodeveopmental disorder disappears but nothing about how that benefits that mouse other than the fact that it can interact more socially.

The best treatment for autism is the kind of therapy that teaches a child useful skills, and creates an environment in which that child can learn, and later successfully care for himself and earn a living.
