   :D I think I finally figured out why if I have to put my husband's date of birth on a form, I have no problem remembering it, but I forget about it IRL. I know his birthday is January 21, but when I was scheduling a doctor's appointment, I just didn't make the connection. This happens to me all the time. I don't make the connection between the abstract and the concrete, especially where numbers are involved.

I am usually able to "remember" things in writing e.g. when writing them down or in response to written questions, in writing, a lot better than I am orally.

If I have to make a call where I will need strings of data like my phone number, car reg etc, I always write the required info down on paper so I can just read it off as otherwise I very often go blank.
