Do any of you get twitchy muscles when you are overtired or stressed. I don't think this is an AS thing - or maybe it is, I dunno - it 's like jumpy nerves popping in my legs and a bit in my arms, too - which generally means I am way overloaded and overtired. Just curious.

you're right, it's not an AS thing. it's called fasciculations and it happens to any tired muscle.

Thank you - I think I am just "noticing" more tonight with anxiety.

I have this problem. Warming up the muscles for 10-15 minutes plus stretching for another 10-15 minutes helps relax the muscles.

Thank you - you're absolutely right - I think being off my exercise routine has contributed to both the twitching and my nervous noticing. I got on my elliptical shortly ago and did some yoga - it is helping both the twitches and my nerves.

Yeah I get that, I think its because when I am feeling anxious and on edge for too long it exhausts me physically because it usually only happens when i am out of energy to be anxious. Though a lot of times I don't realize when I am too tense as sometimes its just physical and doesn't come with anxious feelings.

Anxiety is one of the main causes of benign fasciculation syndrome, since Anxiety is very common is aspies, one should expect BFS to be relatively common in aspies.

I did trucking for a while and drank to many Monster Drinks and 32 Oz. coffees. Eventually I got a muscle twitch in my eye until I finally quit.

Yes. Very common when you're tired. Especially if you've over-exerted your muscles recently.

I think calcium+D3 and or magnesium helps this... I think calcium is for muscle contraction... and MG to relax them... deficiency in MG is extremely common...

Thank you all,

Good advice and reassuring - I'll put these ideas into action - stress management, stretching, rest, and I will add some magnesium.
