They say that aspies cannot connect on an emotional with NTs. Yet I was talking my ex-girlfriend(NT) last night. I asked her straight out did you feel an emotional connection with me, and she said yes. Now I'm confused they say that aspies can't make emotional connections, yet I was able to connect emotionally with my g/f. I just don't understand myself at all. :?:

I think there is a very good reason that you were able to emotionally connect with someone-because aspies can do this! :) If you ask me, I think that the belief that aspies can't emotionally connect with people is a complete myth-in fact, it's total bullsh*t. We might have more difficulty doing so, but we can be, and many of us are boyfriends/girlfriends, husbands/wives, mothers/fathers and other family members to people, all of which involve emotional connections, some very strong. I form very strong emotional connections with people myself, including people that I haven't even met in person. So no need to be confused about being able to make emotional connections, the belief that we can't is just a stupid myth.

Total bull. It may be more difficult to make connections, but certainly not impossible. I've found that these bonds are stronger with aspies than NTs when they finally do connect.

I can connect with NTs.

They've all been women, though.
