Yes. I also tend to be lethargic all the time (I probably have narcolepsy although I can't afford a full diagnosis) so I lack the energy to do things even when I want to, which leads to more boredom and depression.

Yes, I do. I tend to get in trouble at work because I have done the same job for 15 years, and I'm burned out. But I'm terrified of quitting because I don't think I'll be able to get another job and I have a crushing pile of obligations. I can't stand to see everyone else I know having success and moving on and doing big things while I'm trapped here. But I'll shut up now.

I was in the same job for almost 15 years and it closed.

I have got bit and pieces and I find it very hard to fit in anywhere.

I did not fit in during my time in that job but it was a steady dependable income.

Yes to all.

I'm on Prozac and Risperidone for these issues.

I have a higher than normal frustration level, meaning I keep a level head when most NT's have freaked out. Despite this I am prone to anxiety if I'm reading my own feelings correctly, heh... a rather mixed character trait to say the least...

No. One thing you learn when you study mathematics: If you don't know how to solve a problem, keep trying. If you still don't know, keep trying. If nothing works, keep trying.

Building up a social life requires a comparable approach.

some cold comfort for you, you are among legions of similarly struggling folk here. it is like everything i do requires twice the effort and concentration of anybody else doing the same things- i feel like i was born with a 286 or an 8086 processor running DOS while everybody else was born with multicore pentiums and windows 8.

I don't think I get bored easily, but I guess I sometimes have a short fuse, which gets the better of me at times, especially on the internet when dealing with people who aren't entirely in possession of one's faculties.
I don't try to be an a**hole, but sometimes I am just flabergasted at the ignorance some people have, and their ignorance frustrates me, especially when I know what I'm talking about and they don't, and yet they still insist they're right, regardless of the proof otherwise.
