I am curious about Aspies and the New Years Resolutions they make. I have just become aware of the influence Aspergers Syndrome has had on my life this past year, and that awareness, and this online community has been a positive event in my life-discovering that I landed on the Wrong Planet.
Even though 2007 is a more or less arbitrary marker in time, I do find it useful to use as a marker for changes if direction and outlook on life. I for one plan to change my ways so to speak and look at my surroundings and the people I have to interact with as if I actually were on another planet, and dealing with aliens that act, think and feel differently than I do.
I've wasted too much of my life trying to live this life following the advice from significant other NT's. It never worked!

I don't make new year revolutions.

It's probably an NT priority.

Continue to be myself - this is not a resolution but an unspoken, unthought "thought."

I'll probably just treat the night like any other and give it no emotional response

I suck at times, dates & direction. I don't make new Year's resolutions either. But, just to make you happy, I'll make some. I have a head full of unthought thoughts. I will think them. Iwill continue doing what works for me & (here's the important part) recognize what won't & abstain from doing whatever IT may be. Bye.

No New Year's resolutions for me, waste of time.

the gym is always too crouded during the first week of january due to this new years resolution garbage. Fortunately, people give up by the 2nd week and the gym is back to normal.

I tend to think that New Year's resolutions are a waste of time anyway. What's the point? They usually get broken about a month or two into the year anyway. No, just carry on with what you're doing. It doesn't need to be a resolution - self-confidence is the real thing you need, not some daft conversation about "what you will promise not to do next year".

Yep...I've also heard that cigarette sales always fall off the first few weeks of January, only to rebound back to their previous levels later on. I imagine this is because of all those people that make a resolution to stop smoking.

As far as my resolutions go, well, I've already started on them. That's to make my home more energy efficient. I've got a new refrigerator that's being delivered today that uses only a small fraction of the amount of power the old one did. The next big power hog will be the water heater! I've also got plans to add some insulation.

Usually I don't make any 'New Year's Resolutions', but this time I think I'm going to try to be more sensitive to others' feelings.

I usually tell myself to study harder, of course I usually tell my self to do that every day so its a resolution but no much to do with new years. It usually lasts about 10 minutes though so it doesn't count for much. As a matter of fact I should be really studying right now...

Or watching more anime.....
