I have mild Asperger and some little problems with reading non verbal clues, but generally isn't an issue.

I can detect someone with Asperger or ADHD only by people facial expression and body language.

I wonder if any of you also have this feeling that you can read someone solely on the basis of body language.

Not really, I have a hard time figuring out body language. It's only if someone is very conspicuous that I can understand their non-verbal cues.

It's not a 100% certain thing, but I usually can tell by body language. You recognize it because it is similar in some ways to your own body language.

At least that's my theory about it, I'm not really good at anything related to body language.

I can't, because I can't read body language.

I can read general body language, but I can't detect another person with AS or ADHD. I can sometimes figure out that there may be something a little bit different from the general norm, but I can't always pinpoint what it exactly is. Reading body language doesn't always mean you can immediately define their neurological condition exactly, unless they are more severe and so show obvious symptoms like hand flapping, etc.

However, I can often tell if somebody's the sort of person that gets anxious or nervous a lot. Also I can try to gather the information of somebody's slightly different behaviour and try to fit it together to see if it could be an ASD, but even then you can't always be certain, especially if they are mild enough to be able to hide it and pass off as NT (like me). I know an older woman who I often wonder if she has AS. Although she is a very chatty person and is good with dealing with the public, I can tell that a lot of it is forced, as though she's spent most of her life really trying hard to learn these skills. I've seen her stretch her fingers then screw her hands up tight repetitively when she's in an awkward situation, as though it is a little stim what she does. Also one of her co-workers told me that he can't always figure out what she's feeling, she has this blank expression on her face a lot, especially when she's anxious, and she just acts rude to you and makes you unsure if she doesn't want you there or if she's just stressed. But, again, all that doesn't necessarily indicate an ASD. It could be from anything, from a stress disorder, to PTSD.

I can't read body language well for most people, but I can usually tell another ASD if I'm actually looking for it<rare>. I've seen other people pick it up in me before it even dawns on me why. Three people I probably talk to the most are all bipolar. Other people just seem flat to me. Neurotypical people are mono in my head, while others are varying degrees of stereo.

I usually only start wondering if someone has ASD once I have experienced a few (or many) Theory of Mind issues with them. Then I may start realizing they have other AS traits; posture, facial and/or voice aspect, eye contact, toe walking, anxiety, etc.

Since I'm not generally looking for ASD in anyone it's usually persistent perplexing TOM that will get my attention first. However in children with particularly flat facial aspect; I'll notice that immediately.

ADHD in the workplace is very easy for me to see; I wish I could escape seeing it as much as I do.

One of my interests has been body language for many years. After immersing myself in all the books and websites I could on body language and personality types I think I'm a master at it, moreso than NTs. I seem to be good at pattern recognition like yourself, in this instance body language. I could probably pick up ADHD if I had some realtime examples to observe, AS, easy, however my forte is picking up on someones MBTI personality, thats where the fun is, because noone is immune from my analysis haha.
