Sorry to post twice but I have another question.

I talk a lot. Well when I'm not in a depressive / negative symptom phase, I talk a lot.

However today I was told that I have been saying inappropriate things, and that I have been tangential in my conversation. I have been aware of my monotone voice and total lack of body language and no eye contact. But I don't know how to converse with people, especially those who don't know I'm autistic. I tend to ramble about my special interests (which are my medical conditions, pharmacology-related topics, or scientific theories) for ages, and I cannot understand at all what the other person wants out of the conversation.

Listening to NTs coversing (such as before a lecture, on a train, or in a shop etc.) is like a foreign language for me, and tbh I spend a huge amount of time alone in my bedroom because conversing, and even watching people converse, is so exhausting, due to the huge amounts of processing power my brain tries to put in to attempting to understand the body language / tone of voice / etc. (and totally failing).

I tried watching certain programs on TV to learn how NTs converse and how to converse properly, and I've even made notes and drawn diagrams for myself, but I can't work it out.

How do I talk to people without making a fool of myself?

i personally have not been diagnosed with aspergers, although i speculate that i am. i honestly think that you should continue to try and talk about things you are passionate about. i do have a hard time conveying certain emotions and thoughts and even my friends have told me that they cannot read my body language and at times i speak innappropriately and with the wrong attitudes. but also try talking about a simple magazine or newspaper article and see if you can carry on a conversation about it. even just now, im sure that this isnt necesarily something you are passionate about, but you have conveyed your message. be proud of yourself and what you know. great job! :)

I'm still studying this. Lol. From what I can see, NTs talk about nothing most of the time but its based around reciprocity. Shared interests and balanced conversation. I watched a lot of conversations as a kid and since, but I never seem to apply the different aspects correctly. My tone of voice can be off when I intend to say something nice, which I find so annoying. I've heard about people who count to themselves while in conversation to keep from talking too long. But I cant do that while talking. I also recently read NTs are motivated by empathy in conversation, but I don't really understand what that means just yet. All I see are people being fake-nice for the boss or showing fake-interest/concern to maintain their so-called reputation as being such a nice person in the community. But at the same time they're green with envy, feel they are better than most others, are looking for ways to impress others, and find fault whenever they can. But maybe that's just where I live. Idk.

I also talk a lot whenever a special interest comes up, and I usually tend to bring them up. ; ) I really haven't found a good way to manage. I just try to be polite when I hav to interact and avoid people at other times.

To be honest I kind of take my last sentence back in my original post. I don't care if I make a fool of myself. I will say what I want and I don't care what others think.
