Routine
My routine is fairly average, i have breakfast, lunch and dinner at about the same time every day with the same people, and i go to college.
what bothers me is what happens when this routine disapears, in the holidays, in my house there is no strict meal routine, and i have no time table or anything. so in the holidays or when im off for some reason i find i have a lot of mood problems, i throw and hit things for no reason and im upset a lot, is this normal and how do i stop it from bothering me. i also cant sleep and keep waking up in the holidays.
im ok on the weekends its really more than 4 days where it really starts to bother me.

I like to keep a pretty strict routine -- I like to arrive at school at the same time everyday, eat lunch at the same time in the same seat, walk the same path, etc. If something interrupts that routine, the rest of my day will be off. Holidays just naturally set me off. I don't think it has a lot to do with an interruption in the routine for me. I've just never liked the holidays, I guess.
But yes... breaks in routine are somewhat "normal" -- though I'm not sure that word has any real bearing anywhere. Normal is relative.
Anyhow...

funny, most people would say the opposite about holidays, i dont dislike them i just wish they were shorter so it does not disturb me, i get what you mean by the day feeling off if something changes, i hate that feeling.
I have a question concerning routine:
Is it possible to have a routine that does not have a specific time during the day?
I am asking because I have been pointing out that I have a routine of playing computer games every single day, however, I am not strict when it comes to time.
Well, since I'm homeschooled, my routine is a little off until about 1:00 in the afternoon.
I wake up in the mornings, eat breakfast, help my mom pick up the house, and keep an eye on the boys (2 year old, and 3 month old). That is done by noon.
Then the boys will lay down for a nap at 1:00, and I get on my computer and eat lunch... and get on here XD.
Then I get off around 5:00, jump on the trampoline I LOVE TRAMPOLINES, take a shower I LOVE SHOWERS, or get on my tablet.
Then around 6:00 I eat dinner, then clear off the table, mess around on my tablet, and then the boys go back to bed. I pick up the living room, and watch 2 or 3 episodes of Big Bang Theory. Then I go to my room, and play on the computer until 9:00.
So this works pretty well, with minor interruptions, except on the weekends. I HATE THE WEEKENDS.
Also, even though I am homeschooled, I recently just got out of public school, so my online lessons are yet to be ordered, but I figure my schedule will be the same except for right after I eat breakfast up until the boys lay down for a nap. That will be replaced with doing schoolwork on the computer.
But, about the holidays...
The holidays aren't so bad for me because my family doesn't have any relatives come over (WHICH I LOVE), so my schedule isn't too messed up.
OH BUT THE WEEKENDS.

that sounds like a nice routine, i wish my holidays were kept like my school time, i love the big bang theory by the way, one of the best programmes on tv.
I've started using a Chrome app to help me impose order onto my life. Routines really are necessary for me to function while juggling multiple responsibilities for a sustained period of time. I even set specific times for my meals, and I'm planning to eventually do the same with exercise.

I always got jobs with consistant routines. The last three jobs lasted 11, 9, and 16 years each. It is traumatic to change jobs, my entire life's routines get changed as I spend more time working than awake at home.
Retirement was hard the first six months, but it is almost two years and I have routines at home.
Wrong Planet is with meds and coffee in the morning then again after evening chores.
My daughter noticed I don't leave the house hardly ever unless she insists. If I could go somewhere at a set time and place every day I would not be afraid as it would be what I do.
But I don't.
Quite a few of my relatives are police officers, one sister and three neices. I am pretty sure it is for the unambiguous rules the job entails. No guesswork on right or wrong, it is all in the book.
I must add, their autistic tendencies make them superior officers, not good commanders, but excellent police officers.
I think routines sooth everyone to some extent, even NT's.
