Film and cinema

Even back in the days of VHS I hated this format as it cut of half the screen on many features.

I love the whole thing 2.35 Widescreen with 7.1 sound buttered popcorn and a large soda.

I am an expert on the subject it's not even funny.

Ah, yes. The good ol' days. I remember the very time I'd ever seen an outdoor movie theatre.

I was living in Trinidad and Tobago at the time. I was around 8 years old. I was walking along the beach one day when I saw a group of people running towards something. I asked why were they running. They told me a movie was showing. I had no idea what they were talking about so I followed along. When I got there about 50 people or so were standing around an outdoor small makeshift theatre watching a projection of a Burt Lancaster film. I remember who was in it because I'd arrived about 10 minutes towards the end and I'd read the credits. Typical aspie, right?! I was the shortest one there so I had to strain to see over the heads of the standees. Still, at that moment, I was entranced with film forever.

Up until then, the only time I'd been to a movie, or seen one for that matter, was five years earlier when I'd seen part of The Nutty Professor at the Ascot Cinema on Eastern Main Road. I went bawling out into the lobby when I saw Jerry Lewis violently transforming! Classic.

I love movies. What sort of film and cinema things do you latch onto? Is it cinema history or, like, an extremely eclectic knowledge of films?

The technical aspects of presenting films the way they should be seen.

Bigger better screens and sound to match.
