It's a story about the struggles that I've had with Asperger's, and the ways that I am helping people learn social skills based on what I've learned. It's a very positive perspective on Asperger's, and obviously I'm quite excited to be on TV. Check it out :)

Thanks for the link. You are remarkable and I am so glad you've shown your locals how we *really * are! :)

I liked the website (this coming from a skeptic like me is a huge compliment, mind you). I liked the orderly, quiet layout and moderate colors, which for me as an aspie are very important. And the advice is good, if very basic (I didn't pay to see the advanced content because I don't want to use my credit card online). The advice to learn the principle instead of the list of rules is a great advancement in terms of what is offered as advice to aspies in our time. Congrats on that!

Only criticism would be: it always makes me cringe when people give autistics the advice to request the feedback of trusted friends - if we had a few such good friends that were wise and kind enough for us to benefit from their feedback, we wouldn't be trying to improve our social skills.

I think a link to the website would be good as a sticky, though I don't know if it would be accepted by the mods due to the non-free nature of part of the website...

I'd like to see what is in the Joining Groups section, but for a/m reason, I'll die not knowing... Unless my feedback contribution in this post makes you want to reciprocate... :-)

I wanted to add that I hope you transmit to your parents my admiration for the great work they did with you, they truly deserve a standing ovation when almost all aspies go through life without any social guidance or investment in that area from their parents. Also, big congrats to you for taking positive advantage of what your parents gave you and sharing the fruit of your hard work with others.

Congratulations! :) I love your positive attitude and willingness to help others...that is a real gift. Loved the article by the way...we need more stories like this!

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your encouragement and affirmation :)

I do want to say two things. First, I give away memberships to anyone who asks -- I just ask them to do a good deed to someone else in return. You can read about that here: http://www.improveyoursocialskills.com/ ... membership. So if you can't afford it or just don't like using your credit card (like Moondust), just let me know and I'll hook you up.

Also, I very much want to be a resource, so if anyone has any questions about social skills or whatever, I'm happy to answer them!
