This ad brough tears to my eyes and chills down my spine

I just wish that more clinicians and even autism rights advocates would think like the psychologists in this work of art.

I agree as well, they never have the time nor the insight.--Strange that it came out in Japan, where the cultural norm stresses conformity even more than we do in western contries.

That wasn't an autism ad. It was about promoting creativity. But I can see how it could be interpreted as an autism ad...

Autism, it's Au-some! :D

WOW, I was right roght from the beginning. BEAUTIFUL! It shows how your perspctive can be SO wrong! Almost like the huge drawings they have on the ground that look SENSELESS unless you're in an aircraft! It's a shame it wasn't a zebra or something similar, so he could draw stripes and have it make more sense, even though still appearing overly simplistic, etc...

BTW it isn't just for creativity. The boy goes through being examined, and ignores questions. He DOES act autistic. He was given a task, and just kept working at it.

Steve

What made me interpret this as an autism ad is that the boys teacher is seen toying with a small puzzle piece, that has the same shape as the one that Autism Speaks uses.

The phrase "advertising for autism" strikes me as funny...

Autism: It's Catching On!

Autism: Get Yours Today!

Autism: It's Where It's At!
