No, I supposedly speak too quietly, although it seems to me as though everyone else speaks far too loudly.

No one has ever said I speak too loudly. So I guess I don't. I guess it reflects your hearing, doesn't it?

Yes, my girlfriend sometimes point me that I speak too loud. Mostly in unfortunate situations. But in the other hand sometimes people says that I speak too quietly.

I used to speak too softly. After I studied drama and learned to project my voice, I spoke too loudly. After having people tear me down for speaking too loud, I spoke too softly again.

I think my speaking volume is in the appropriate range now, but I am not positive and have heard conflicting reports.

Sometimes. I've seen my brother cringe at me before when I do this.

When I concentrate on speaking quietly during conversations, I don't get too loud. On the other hand, when I get excited, I forget and people will often end up telling me that my voice hurts their ears.

I have often heard that I speak very loudly. I prefer to do so, so I don't have to repeat myself too often.

No. My problem is the opposite. I often have people ask me to speak up because they can't hear me. But I have been around someone with Asperger's who speaks VERY loudly, so I understand what you mean about yourself.

It's such a frustrating feeling, isn't it? Like you don't exist. Although I think I've gotten better over the past year or two. People don't tell me to speak up nearly as much as they used to. I'm certainly not loud by any means, though.

I do not normally talk very much.
When I have to talk I do OK until I get misunderstood, then I get louder and louder until I get told.

This may be normal, I know wheelchair people that say they get talked loud at by a lot by folks that are stressed by handicapped persons.

I notice several posts relating to getting loud when excited or stressed in some way. NT's do this as well.

Yep. I'm told that all the time, and for years. I never realize it until someone points it out. And since I also speak very fast, it's doubly annoying to people. I was once given a "clapper" keychain -- if you lost it, you could just whistle and it would go off and tell you where they are. I had to get rid of it because my speaking voice kept setting it off, which is odd because I don't have a high whistle-y voice, but more of a low alto. Besides being loud, my voice also seems to carry -- I can be heard from a long way and over other people. I guess I should have found a career where that would have been an asset -- stage actor or auctioneer.
