I don't even wanna go on Facebook because my former classmates will try to contact me on it.
When I used to be on Facebook someone who didn't like me in school sent me a friend request. I thought that was to weird so I ignored them and eventually blocked them.
I suspect they volunteered to be on the Reunion committee and that's why they "Friended" me. Oh well, I'm glad I quit that site.
I got a friend request like that! If they were planning a 20-year reunion, I never heard about it. That would have been 2010. So for some reason other than that, the chick who seemed to think I was contagious and possibly fatal sent me a friend request a week ago. I was gobsmacked. And I promptly declined and ignored. I'd like to reach the point where I forgive everyone who ever picked on me, hey, who wouldn't like to feel that evolved? But that's not the same as wanting her to have access to my comments as well as those of my family members. Thing is, I can't figure out how she found me. I keep my friends list very short (about 20), I keep my settings very private, and even so, my maiden name is not on Facebook, and neither is my photo. I have this strange aversion to associating with anyone I used to know, much less people who barely tolerated me, much MUCH less people who actually made fun of me. I've heard bullies tend to forget their bullying, but if that was the only relationship they had with a person and they forget that, exactly what do they remember?
I did get information about a ten year reunion long ago, by the way... I sent them a brief and uninformative update and told them just what I thought about seeing again the pack of people I considered responsible for the systematic destruction of my self-esteem. Yeah, just a wee bit bitter. I am working on that, making a little progress. BUT ten years was too soon. That's what happens when you spend years of life alone in a big noisy crowd.
