Hyperactive Behavior When Thinking?
An interesting behavior I have observed in the last 1,5 year or so (since I decided to go back from my studying hiatus after I finished high school): whenever I am doing something that requires me to think, like math, logic, budget planning or accountancy, I become really hyperactive. I start to say out loud what I am thinking in a very accelerated voice, which means that, if you listen to it and are able to understand my time-compressed speech, you can understand exactly how I think.
I am being completely serious when I say that I sound like this, but with a lower voice tone:

Is that normal? I never heard anything about ADHD during logical thinking.

I can definitely relate to this!
when I concentrate on something logically, my mind clocks overtime and my speech starts to accelerate.
I also do it when explaining a difficult concept to someone, once I explained non-newtonian fluids to a mate and got so enthusiastic that I completely confused him.
My mum can barely understand me sometimes, poor sod.
I do it when I'm doing assignments and I'm sitting there talking to myself really quickly, logically thinking how to do it.
And Professor Solus from Mass Effect 2, I sound just like him

Yes, that is exactly what I do. In fact, I was told to slow down when I tried to explain a few things to some classmates yesterday: I was talking too quickly and got to the conclusion before they understood the premises.
Actually, the way you said it made me realize that it fits perfectly the criteria for Asperger's syndrome: talking enthusiastically about a subject without giving the listener a chance to reply.

Yup, I normally have to repeat myself several times before I'm understood. Which then bugs me because i dont like to repeat things, as I think I have explain myself well and fully the first few times.
As for the one-sided talking, again I do that loads as well and get told off.
It was one of the things that led me to look into aspergers after my teachers and friends told me I was bad at small talk and conversations.
I am a heavy Doctor Who and Sci-fi fan, so most of my conversations lead to Technobabble and combined with accelerated speech, I can confuse anyone within seconds and have them questioning reality before they have a chance to reply

I agree, it is very annoying to have to explain the same thing over and over. Usually, the listener just gives up and asks me for the solution to the problem, which leaves me feeling like I am uncapable of explaining things.
Also, the video of Mordin reminds me that I cannot begin Mass Effect 3 without first completing ME 2 again. I was stupid enough to lose Mordin and Legion AND save the game.
