All through my life, I seem to constantly get misinterpreted and misunderstood by people, even when what I've said is simple and logical and factual. I wondered, do other Aspies misunderstand their fellow Aspies as much as NTs seem to misinterpret?

Well, I have seen Aspies fight ferociously online and it is clear to me that neither one is understanding what the other one is saying. Or it might be that they are not listening or trying to understand.

I, personally, have probably been misunderstood equally by NTs and Aspies. I just think the reason for the misunderstanding might be different. Or maybe not. I don't know.

I guess when there's a collision between two people whose personalities conflict with each other, some explosion is bound to occur and someone's feeling is going to get hurt. Happens to me sometimes with both aspies or NT's.

Sure, aspies can misunderstand each other too just like NTs do with each other all the time.

I have been misunderstood by both. Some are bad ones and some are no big deal.

Misunderstandings are worse online than in the real world, for me anyway.

I don't usually have a problem understanding Aspies especially in person but that may just be a compatible personality thing.

NTs just think weird. I can understand what they are telling me (when they are speaking), I just don't agree with their logic. The individuals I have met seem to over generalise, over exaggerate and over simplify everything. They make strange assumptions instead of working with facts and seem to be highly judgmental. Perhaps it is just the people I have encountered...

They also seem to be incredibly rude. Most aspies I have met have not been offensive at all however. Very sweet usually and interesting.

NTs are more likely to misread or misunderstand me than I am to misunderstand them. They attach meaning to my words that just is not there and there is no way you can make them understand they have gotten things wrong. I get so darn frustrated with that.

In my experience, AS people aren't as likely to misinterpret me as NTs are. Especially in person (online misinterpretations are more common for both groups).

I really do get the impression of different 'languages' of social communication, rather than an AS deficit.
