I'll identify as being autistic. I do plan to be re-evaluated though just to make sure.

I tend to use the word 'autism' most the time anyways. Less of a mouthful to say. Plus there's no adjective form of "Asperger Syndrome", at least nothing that doesn't sound really silly.

Your 16 I am almost 39 and your right it does not matter what we call it.

It matters what we do about it and your only 16 you know what you have and you can make the most of things.

I will still make the most of things even at this age.

Yes, I'm an Aspie, no matter whether or not people think that Aspergers 'too similar' to mild/high-functioning autism.

My mother asked me this today so I just thought I would see what other people on the spectrum thought. The way she sees it, I have AS and she will only refer to me as an Aspie, although I think it is because she is still uncomfortable with the word "autism"(my having Asperger's had been suspected for some time but I was only recently diagnosed). I however identify myself mostly as being "on the spectrum" or "having an ASD" whenever somone brings up my condition.

I've always identified as an Autie, not and Aspie. It doesn't change anything for me.

I do not currently identify as having AS, so I'm not going to start.

If it no longer "officially exists"...... that won't matter. As an aspie I am more than capable of a thorough and detailed 3 hour explanation of why it still ACTUALLY exists.

AS is mild autism. If I'm diagnosed with either, then they'll be interchangeable to me.

Oh right, I've only just discovered I have it and its about to be deleted.
They did the same recently with wasabi rice crackers and a type of icecream I was fond of.
If this keeps up I will discover paranoia
