Does anyone else here hate going to the Dentist?
I can go and get a tooth pulled by the oral surgeon just fine, yet when it comes to going to a dentist, i cannot stand it when they have to
fill a cavity and drill. It's something with the drill or the drillfile motor and it makes bad sensations for me. It's not pain.
I kept telling trying to tell the dentist and they just kept giving me more novacaine, this happened and i got 3 novacaine shots and i am trying to tell them it's not pain it's the sensation and it still didn't numb it and they tried to go easier with the drill thing yet the sensation is too touching a nerve in my teeth and it's too strong i dislike it.

I will need to find sedation dentist to knock me out...

I think most people dislike it, including me, but I tolerate it as we all should try to do. My dentist is excellent about explaining AND WARNING me of what he's doing, and that makes all the difference to me. I don't care if something hurts, as long as it's explained and warned. I just don't like surprises.

Do you use the gas? it makes all the difference in the world for me

I am sensitive for cleanings, so I use nitrous for that too

I absolutely hate going to the dentist, but ounce of prevention better than pound of cure holds very true in this case. I take two ibuprofen even just for a cleaning, and I always ask for a double shot of novocaine. As much as the sensation of that drill sucks, it will still be extremely painful for me if I don't. I tried the gas once, and ended up crying the entire time because it still hurt really bad.

Barring being knocked out, I need at least 2mg of Xanax to stave off a severe panic attack. This is something that's actually gotten worse over time. I have to see the dentist in a couple of weeks because a bridge came loose. No pain or drilling etc involved, but I'll still need to pop at least 0.5 mg of Xanax.

I don't mind the dentist too much as long as I'm numbed up. The gas had adverse effects on me, and put me into a panic/rage, so that was the one and only time they used it.
