and out of curiosity if you were bullied, picked on or teased what methods did fellow students use to irritate you?

1. They made fun of my accent. It never stopped.
2. Somebody put gum in my seat.
3. I used to straighten my hair so some people made fun of that.
4. I had thick glasses so they made fun of that.
5. The kids on the school bus were thugs so I just walked home the 3 1/2 miles every day.
6. Somebody made me take my boots off in the snow then he threw it across the street.
7. They made fun of my homemade bikes. They called them trucks.
8. They made fun of my sneakers. They called them skips.
9. The students were loud, boisterous and cantankerous so I avoided them like the plague.
10. The word "nerd" didn't exist back then so they just called me square.

1. They called me "Sparky" (as a really young kid, I imitated dogs - I guess I brought that one on myself!)
2. They put gum in my hair.
3. They threw spit balls at me.
4. They called me ugly, too skinny, and "stupid white girl."
5. Girls would corner me and threaten to beat me up, constantly, sometimes actually beating me up - though I must say I put on a good fight.
6. One girl came to my house with a weapon to threaten me.
7. Some boys drove their car up onto my front lawn and almost ran over my little sister, attempting to do a "drive by".
8. At a new school, they called me "stuck up" (which couldn't have been further from the truth).

My response:

I tried to get out of school as soon as possible. I spent most of my time in the computer room and then signed up for a gifted class that would bus students to another location for half the day to learn specialized subjects. I then became a stand up comic later in life and the joke was on them. ;^)

When younger, kids would do physical things, such as pull my hair...when older, it morphed into verbal teasing about my imaginary friends and my naivete. One girl insisted that I was a lesbian and said she was going out with me.

Due to being a little more intelligent than normal, i got into school early, and jumped 2 grades, they tried to make me jump more grades, but my mom thought it wasnt right, by now, i wish i could have done that, and jumped as more grades as possible, and leave school as fast as i could.

The thing is, that i had to change school, i was going to a private one, that wasnt that hard in the bullying, and if it was, i cant remember being that bad, because what came after that, it was so damn bad, that all other types of bullying where minimal.

So i was 12 years old in 9 grade, and got into a public school, ohhh man.

When i got there, people were even older than i expected, people should be between 16-17, but there was even people between 18-20 years, they saw me and laughed at me, saying that i must have lost looking for my classroom, i knew it was correct, so i walked in and sat in a chair, we started with ages, and there was even a guy with 21 years.

The bullying started the second day of classes, when i was doing the line to buy my food in the school cafeteria, and then, 2 guys came and said to me, "thats my spot, thanks for saving the spot for me" they got into my spot, and then screamed that i was getting into the line, so i had to make the line again, by the time i was near to buy my food, there was no time, so i stayed without eating.

They have this type of game, where, when you said something dumb, all people should hit you in the face, they made some type of deal(the whole class room, except for 1 or 2 that were nice people), to say that everything i said was dumb, and i couldnt do anything, they just lined up, almost 40-45 people, to hit me in the face, i would start crying by the 3 or 4 hit, this happened 2 or 3 times a day, even 5.

I tried going to the director, what could he do?, expell the whole class?, he just went and told them to stop arrasing me, yet, when he left, they jumped me and started hitting me, really hard, because they were mad, i even god some cuts for the beat.

They often stole my books(even though i rarely wrote), my calculators, the food i brought to school in my backpack, one time they even stole my whole backpack with all in it.

The worse beatdown that they gave me, was the reason of not letting this guy get into my house, i was in my house alone when i was like 13 years, and he was like 17, he came to my house( i still dont know how did he manage to get my adress), he didnt have a computer, i had internet in those days, and in my area it was kinda of a luxury having internet, so he asked me if he could get into my house and watch porn in my computer, i said no, he tried to break in, and i closed the door, he started insulting me, and saying that i would regret, the other day i was going to school and they were right in the door waiting for me, 6 guys, the younger one was 17, and the older one was 19, there was a guard, so they tried me nice, and grabbed me and pulled me in, when they found a place where no one was looking the beatdown started, one of them even found a brick, and hit me twice in the head, making me go almost unconcious, by the time they were tired of hitting me, i was almost numbness i dont understand why, but i couldnt feel anything, they left me there, i stand up, my feet were in pain, i went to the class room, they laughed, my clothes were with blood, the teacher asked me, i told her, i got hit by a bicycle.

Also, they did the usual things, putting gum in my hair or in my chair, spitting me while walking past me, stole my money, insult me, tell gossips about me,etc.

When i started 11 year, we got into a mixed classroom, i thought the bullying was going to stop, if girls were around, they could rat them, ohhh i was soo naive, they also have the need to feel superior by picking on others, they often said i was gay to every person they know, they said i was in love with them, and that i often sent messages to them, when by that time i wasnt even too interested in girl or finding a girlfriend, there was even one time, when a girl said a lot of things about me, and i just said to her,"all those things you said could be true in your reality, or in other reality, i really dont care, but the true is that you are a undeveloped human being, go on and tell me whatever you want, if it makes your pathetic life better", that really go wrong, two days of calm, she didnt even talked to me, by the third day i get called to the principal office, she was there, with his parents, and other two girls of my class, "Hi ****** we called you here because "girl" said that you tried to get advantage of her in the bathroom, and that even when she told you to stop, you were hurting her, and trying to rape her", i just stayed in silence for a moment, thinking how can a person can go to such extremes to ruin anothers person life, just for fun, i was intelligent enough to know that there was anything i could say, to make them see the reality. they expelled me for one week, and his fathers were pursuing legal actions againts me, my fathers knew it was all BS, and they were ready for law fight, but then one of the girls that was backing up his story, ratted her, i dont know why, she thought, that sent me to prison was too much, and stopped that madness, the girl got expelled permanent by the school.

Also by the time i was in 11 year, there was not too much picking on me, because i got into training grecoroman fight and boxing, but there was still people that picked on me, but mostly girl by this time.

Apologize my english, im not mainly spanish talker.

Yes I was bullied mercilessly from kindergarten through to grade 8, not occasionally but all the time during recess and during class and waiting to be picked up and in the morning when my mum dropped me off, she even heard kids say really nasty things to be when she picked me up. I was the school pariah. My whole class would tease and laugh at me. In kindergarten kids would follow me around chanting "I hate *my name*" One kid pulled down my pants in the hall and poured water in them so it looked like I peed my pants. Kids would push me down , pull my hair , one tried to shove me in a trash can but was caught. Kids would dare each other to touch me or force a friend to touch me and then say "you've got the cooties" to the friend. Kids would pretend to be my friend and meet me somewhere after school and then not show up and laugh at me the next time I saw them, kids would say "how much would you have to be paid to kiss *my name*, a million dollars, a billion dollars ect. Kids would threaten to beat me up after school. In middle school these popular kids pretended they were going to be nice to me and give me a makeover and then just smeared lip stick and blush all over my cheeks and forehead ect and laughed......and on and on and on...................

Yes, yes and yes and if you need more details just read my previous posts. Funny how people think *I* would have been the bully today but back then I was pretty much bullied more than almost every WP member. They did literally everything they could think of and some are too horrific to even talk about today but by and large, I was just senseless stuff like putting mud in my brand new sneakers and randomly shoving me down the stairs.

I even had the entire class put together a slush fund and said I could have $50 if I never sat near anyone. Yeah school sucked and I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone in my suffering because just about everyone responds with the ridiculous "oh everyone is bullied".

I was heavily teased by almost everyone in my grade during Elementary School. On the playground students would run away from me stating the standard "you've got cooties" thing. When we played sports in gym, I would never get chosen by any team captain and would be forced to join whichever team needed any extra player. In the class, things were generally okay since everyone was usually occupied by their classwork to care about teasing me. The teasing was never serious, I think everyone was just simply trying to have good fun, as I was never really truly upset at them for doing so.

In Middle School things started to get worse, as now I had kids on the bus physically hurting me by yanking my hair or elbowing me in the head. They also tried getting me to do some rather embarrassing things just so they could spread rumors. It was bad enough they tried spreading a rumor that I was "dating" the ugliest boy in school. Meltdowns in school became more common as a result of the torment my peers were suddenly putting me through. Now a Senior in High School, I can say that things haven't improved much since I started Middle School. However it seems now as if my peers never seem to tease me directly. I'm very reluctant to engage in almost any conversation with my classmates now because of some of the things they put me through over the years.

Well, the bullying started in kindergarten, when a girl who hated me for no reason put a rock in my chocolate milk carton. During childhood I was bullied because of my buck teeth, which were compared to Bugs Bunny and a character from the obscure cartoon Jay Jay the Jet Plane (thankfully Spongebob hadn't yet caught on). When I was a teenager I was made fun of for having acne (one girl had written a letter to a male friend of mine in which she referred to me as his "pimple-covered girlfriend"), for liking anime (accused of being a "Japanese wannabe") and for my sexuality (in a scathing letter that called me "revolting lesbian slime" and said that I was going to hell - written by my former best friend, no less). I was also refused a yearbook signing by my former best friend and she let her friends cuss me out. One of her friends also threatened to beat me up at one point.

I was also bullied by my own siblings. For most of my childhood and especially my teenage years, I had a lot of mental health problems including constant panic attacks, depression and severe OCD. My older sister thought I was making up my mental illnesses for attention and so she would have "talks" with our younger brother where they would complain about me and talk about how much they hated me. When my brother later told me about this, he confessed that during this time, he actually, legitimately hated me. (For what it's worth, he doesn't anymore - In fact, these days we're probably closer than most brothers and sisters are.)

I was teased very heavily in elementary school where some of the kids would make fun of my ethnicity, make funny faces (yep, exaggerated buck teeth) constipated noises, squint their eyes and make pseudo-Asian sounds, say racist slurs, throw things at me and make sounds like I was dumb. Things were particularly bad on bus rides for field trips.
On a high honors science trip one or two of the other kids (a fellow geek or two) pushed me and I fell in (I forget) either a salt marsh or somewhere close to a tar pit, getting my pants all dirty and wet. On the same walk they pushed me again very close to a mountain ledge. I truly don't remember what, if anything, I did to them.

For the last 6 of the 7 years I was in primary school I was physically attacked every day at break and lunch times, sometimes even in class. Punching, kicking, throwing off of walls, strangulation even. It was despicable and the school blatantly ignored it, even when I reported it probably over 50 times a year. They had playground monitors but they seemed to always turn around as soon as something happened, so clearly they weren't even trying.

Yes, I was bullied in school. Middle school was probably the worst time of my life in school. Not a day went by without someone calling me names, or throwing bugs in my hair, stealing from me, making fun of my voice, pretending to be my friend etc, etc. The list is a mile long at least. I think I ran as fast as the Roadrunner at my middle school graduation. I was so happy to finally be free of my tormentors.

High school was relatively uneventful, mostly because I kept to myself and went straight home after school. I didn't want to be picked on anymore.

OP, I'd be surprised if you found an Autistic who wasn't bullied in school.

In primary school, I was chased around, kicked and beaten by a gang of 11-12 year olds on a regular basis. When I was 5. I ended up having to sit with the janitor, one of the only people who understood me.

I moved away from that school, and things improved a little, but I was still a social outcast, and constantly had to put up with insults, people bitching about me, and the occasional beating.

High school was pretty bad as well, because I matured a lot quicker than the other kids, and my anxiety was at it's worst then, with it being such a drastic change from primary school. I was taken advantage of a lot there. I wasn't ever attacked severely there though, as I mostly just kept out of people's way, never speaking, except to a few people I trusted.

There was a kid who liked to pick on me since primary school, I don't remember being physically bullied maybe except a few times perhaps when I got kicked or hit but I never actually felt that some one hated me. Everyone saw me as a short harmless kid with a baby face. In middle school I lost my good friend because he was too embarrassed to hang out with a kid like me. Then I became completely asocial, years gone by and
with every day I became more and more depressed until the suicide that I attempted two years ago.
