And if they did, in what way?

[EDIT] would they help an Aspie Live more independently?

Do a search for ASDoggeek's posts. She has posted a bit about autism service dogs.

Sure.

The dog could do all the talking for you at a job interview, or when hitting on chicks, or in any other situation involving social skills.

yes i think so. i have a little fella here that gets me conversation with all manner of ppl ... without him i doubt I'd speak to anyone, good company at work too, as he sleeps in his cabin I work for the two of us.

my passion is the countryside, landscape and wild nature in this beautiful County, for twenty years i have roamed and explored with a canine companion, they can make for an interesting walk wherever you go.

don't know how it would work for a town or city dweller, mine is a hound, a beagle, and they need lots of wide open spaces ... and so do I ! !!

I have problems loving anything and the dog would drive me crazy.. I would hear every little noise it makes as it licks it's ass for 2 hours and it would throw off my concentration on what I'm doing, It would drive me bonkers.

I would hope that anyone who gets a service dog, loves the dog and lets it in the house and sleep on the bed with them or at least in their room and treats it well....
