Do people mistake you from being organized while you're really in reality disorganized? Do you were the type of person that was super-organized? :o

What type of "organize" person are you? See poll.

I am very organized. I cannot tolerate imperfections and misalignments in the positions of papers and documents on my desk.

I also like my books to be in thematic order and properly aligned on the shelves. I sometimes use a ruler, to get all the books in straight lines on the shelves. I want everything to look impeccable.

I also cannot stand dust, but it is harder to keep the dust off the books. I hate dust, but it is hard to keep away. It is an eternal struggle. :(

I make repeated valiant attempts at it, but in reality I'm a mess.

Being organized is too much work for me. I'm too lazy to date and order all my notes. Maybe I'm so used to things being a messed that I don't know anything easier but I don't feel like I have trouble finding things even when everything's a mess. I lose things if I stop using them for too long but most of the stuff I need to find I can just recall where I put them last.

It might be easier if I were organized but I don't know anything different and I don't have enough difficulty with the way things are to make being organized worth the effort.

I used to be super-organized but I'm not as much any more and it's a never-ending struggle trying to keep books and papers and things around my TV and computer from looking like a mess. It seems the minute I straighten them up they get messed up two minutes later and bring disruption and bad balance or something to my home. I do keep things in bags and containers to keep them organized but when I want something from those bags I disturb the balance and have to restore it again but I don't usually feel like it and as a result I have plastic bags of stuffed animal collections out of my closet and on the bedroom floor and folders with my drawings and comic strips all out of order because I took them out to scan on the computer. It's easier to keep things balanced when you never actually use them! But then what would be the point of owning them?

I know exactly how things should be.
I have extremely nit picking standards of what should be there, how it looks arranged, how it should be cleaned..
so if I don't have a block of time to spare to do it just so , I leave it ... and procrastinate...
...and find other things to be busy with...
and run out of time and go Aaaaargh and do it in a cranky exhausting frenzy.

Then I wonder why the hell I didn't do it a bit at a time, and promise myself next time will be different....

I have a strong need for order, but it's more a compensation mechanism because I'm also forgetful and have a high need for predictability.

my stuff is organized, though to those who dont understand my system they tend to only see piles of stuff on my desk. but if I need a particular copy of popular science or whatever, I generally know where it is and can find it quickly.

I oscillate between the first and the last options in the poll.

When I am organized, I achieve perfection in doing so. However, when I lose the motivation to be organized due to anxiety/feeling of hopelessness etc, then suddenly the perfect organization turns into a disgusting mess where everything is scattered on the carpet. Now I'm in the latter state and it's hard to walk in my place without stepping on paper, plastic bags etc. It's really not healthy mentally and physically.
