But I could have lived with a few more friends and better social skills.

But I could have dealt with sarcasm going into instead of over my head.

But I could have done without the bullies and personal attacks.

I could have lived without the unintended hurt feelings.

Thanks Autism, for making me detail-oriented and flourish in the arts.

But I've gotten in trouble way too many times for not behaving correctly in certain situations.

Thanks autism for making me different, smarter than the average joe when it comes to specific subjects and different and not the cookie cutter image society wants me to be.

I could have done without the insatiable need to tell everyone everything I've learned, boring them all stupid though.

I would love to be less forgetful about everything else, though.

But I could have done without the poor motor coordination and lack of athletic skills.

It would have been nice to find out earlier what a delightful group of individuals I belong to, rather than thinking it was just me.

I could have used the ability to be more present in the moment with others though, and to not be so distracted by my own thoughts and imagination.

Thanks Autism, for making me a math and science genius and giving me a wild imagination.

It would have been nice to be able to trade some of that talent for other talents, like being able to socialize. It's like having all the money in the world without any stores to go spend it in.
