You can block her on Facebook. I've had similar - he decided I don't have it because I don't have a proper diagnosis. :x

You could simply tell, that to diagnose asperger you need a Dr. in psychology or psychotherapy and additional knowledge and training about autism and some years experience. While having asperger is no criteria for being able to diagnose asperger.

I also have been affected with low stadium of skin cancer additional times (have a skin like princess snowwhite) and specialists removed me five potential affected spots of my skin, but this doesnt help me in any way to recognize such spots by myself. (Yop, if I would ignore them for years until its obvious and they are spreading, I would recognize them, but then its to late.) I also had "the real" influenza additional times, but still I need to go to the doctor so that he can tell me if I only have a minor flu and can go on working or if I have real influenza and better should stay home, to avoid infecting the whole company. And owning a computer does not change me into an computer expert. ^^

So maybe you simply ask her, why she thinks that owning asperger would give her magical knowledge, that other people need years to study?

Surely, someone with the condition should understand that it's a spectrum and we (including 2 people with AS) are all affected differently.

Oh internet, how you are full of idiots. I've met some people online and in real life who say I can't be autistic or Asperger's because I'm working and they can't function enough to work. May I kindly send them over to the Work and Finding a Job forum here.

And even if you have that, you also need to have reviewed that person's developmental history extensively and talked to them in person. Even a trained psychologist can't diagnose over the Internet.

I wish idiocy would stay on the internet. Easier to block than if they are sitting across from you.

Refer the matter to the Aspie Inquisition.

It....could be a while before you get a decision.

All humor aside, so what if another Aspie, legit or not, says you arn't an Aspie. We don't have an inquisition, and it's not like it gets you a passport to Aspie-dom.

A survey was done (before I was there) at a local Autism group I attend. 85% of people there work, compared with the survey done by National Autistic Society where they found only 15% worked. (which includes the low functioning and those with severe physical disabilities)
