Hi, I guess I'm looking for newspaper articles or youtube videos where the celebrity himself or herself has said they are on the Asperger's-Autism Spectrum. And this is for celebrities now alive or recently deceased.

For someone still alive, I think we need to be a little bit careful about "outing" them. Maybe instead we can say something like, 'a unique, creative individual who marches to his or her own drummer. Maybe they're on the spectrum and maybe they're not, and either way is perfectly okay.'

He's the only one that I know of that blatantly is.

The rest are usually debated about.

The fact is anyone in any kind of public figure will be very adept at hiding it. As intervews etc, typically expect a person to play within certain rules. Are often very specific.

My personal opinion is a much larger percentage of artists are on the spectrum and are simply able to pass under the radar.

Ironically enough people gravitate to the more attention seeking stars such as bowie, when the reality is it would be more of the restrained type that would be more common.

Jaco pastorius for example was listed as bipolar. However it's entirely possible, that he had AS. He was obnoxious narcissitic, and obsessive.
However it all depends how honest the people were that knew him. I've read his book, and by the sounds of it, his pre drugged days make him out to be a god, and his later years were myered with erattic behavior.

Chicago Tribune, Greg Kot, music critic, September 28, 2012.

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012 ... inters-row

‘ . . . The Rhode Island art-school student that Byrne once was had no ambitions to be a pop star, but found in music a way to communicate with the world. He says that only later in life did he realize that his social ineptitude might have been a byproduct of "a mild form of Asperger's syndrome." . . . ’

Well, I’d rather someone more robustly say, Yes, I am on the Spectrum. :D But okay, I will accept this statement and publicity as a positive. I mean, that's where the brother is at this time. And it's his life afterall.

Wasnt it later "corrected" by Akroyd that he did not really have Aspergers but it was just a misunderstanding? Meaning he isnt a AS-person?

Gary numan. It's official.

And it's a wonderful self esteem boost. He's great.

Daryl Hannah and Courtney Love were both diagnosed with "mild" autism as children (before Asperger Syndrome was a diagnosis).

He's certain he has it. That is good enough.

Sidis was a celebrity and a Genius. His time was as at the turn of the 20th Century. He certainly had earmarks of it. In fact it goes beyond speculation......He had it. Authors point this out: The anecdotal evidence is there via his troubles -- "classic Asperger's Syndrome."

Not overly famous, but the actor who plays Albert Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie is diagnosed with high-functioning autism.

I once read on IMDB that Erik Per Sullivan has AS but someone said on the forum it was just a rumor. It's not there anymore about him in the biography section on his page.
