To be fair, it is still mostly unknown exactly how and why most antidepressants work, and why they work for some but not others.

True, I tend not to get any beneficial effects from anti-depressants so to me the side effects generally aren't worth it. I can't speak for people who do benefit and experiance minimal to no side effects from them though.
