I get that when there are people around, particularly when their attention is on me.

Why do you get an adrenaline rush around books? Because you love books and feel excited about them? I feel quite happy in libraries and book shops, but I feel just calm there.

I do not know really. I just walk about books shelfs and scan everybook. I think it is because of people maybe. Mostly however happens in bookshops and libraries. I hate it even if there are only two people in the whole room. That is why I stopped going to libraries, but I guess it is people issue. Not sure.

I like books, but not at the book store.. more like mountain biking, kiteboarding, snowboarding, snowkiting, wakesurfing, maybe some kinda motorsport.. etc. You know, things that get adrenaline pumping.

I get an adrenaline rush everytime something triggers an emotion. If its a negative emotion i get the adrenaline rush alongside the feeling in the pit if my stomach of impending doom and dread, a positive emotion gives me the adrenaline rush and im hanging off the ceiling. Since almost everything around me triggers one emotion after another, there are days where i feel like im stuck in a continuous adrenaline rush, the upside of it is that the adrenaline fuels my body when im at work -i can do the job much faster than anyone else. The downside is that i have to dissociate to recoup my reserves- can rarely remember how i get home again! I love book shops and libraries, it would be a dream come true to work in that environment, except of course, the adrenaline overload created in the build-up to even getting an interview for said position would probably poison me!! !! ! Books have always been my refuge and the only means of escape from myself.

I'm a paramedic, so I live on adrenaline. But I guess what really give me one is when there is a "problem" that I know how to "fix". Be it something simple like the Stephen King shelf in the bookshelf is sagging, or the driver in that car wreck has a bone sticking out of his leg and isn't breathing. I know what to do for either of them, and can fix it. There is no better feeling than that.

Maybe they are panic attacks?
