...sitting on some person's windowsill.

Just thought of sharing this classic Sheldon-esque moment, but earlier I did the above (did it several times in the past with no one saying anything) and a couple of people opened the window asking me what I was doing, to which I simply said that I was just taking a picture of the cat.

...I just love cats too much really to be bothered about what people think. I often follow them into people's porches to stroke them.

Do I not care due to AS? Discuss.

:)

Heres a small check list I thought of for you to help avoid the police and angry neighbours, feel free to add more.
-Are you standing on public/your own property to take the picture?
-Is the flash turned off(i'd be ticked if I get flashed through the window)?
-Is anyone watching you?

I must admit I look into peoples windows(from the street) if I see a cat, if a cat is outside I may attempt to call it over and pet it. I would never take a photo into someones home though or tresspass onto their property. I don't want to die young or see the back of a police car, people are suspect of me enough as it is.

Yes, I was on public pavement.
No flash, as it was through a phone.
I didn't notice anyone before they opened the window.

Didn't intend to take any pictures of the property, but the cat happened to be sitting in its direction!

Your much more brave then I, however is far is the law is concerned you were good! I do think this is a social thing you and meny don't get becouse of AS, I mainly go by the laws myself so I can understand how it could happen, I will say though I get a little on edge when someone stops outside my home and mills about the fence looking at flowers, nevermind taking photos so I likely would not do exactly as you did. However if you are OK with doing this go or it, as I said its legal.

I'm surprised people would mind this. I take photos of plants sometimes (I paint them) and while I haven't taken any photos of anyone's garden, if I wanted to, I don't think it would occur to me that the owner would mind so long as I didn't go into it.

Just another example of not understanding what is and isn't socially normal or acceptable, I suppose. What do they see as threatening about this behaviour? I don't really understand the reaction.

I came in this thread expecting a picture of a cat. Disappointed.

Likewise!

I don't understand what is supposed to be "Sheldon-esque" about this, these days everyone has their camera phones out taking pictures of things, it's perfectly normal!
