I often recommend volunteering as a remedy for isolation, and I thought you might like to see the Newsletter from www.VolunteerMatch.org

http://www.icontact-archive.com/2ekDGgC ... NT_kb5?w=4

You can search by zip code or put "virtual" and get things you can do at your computer.

It's a boost to self-esteem, too - wonderful how our natural talents can help others.

This Newsletter mentions Boston, but I haven't read it yet.

I did some community service (for a speeding ticket I couldn't afford to pay) at a Scout camp and it was so satisfying I plan to continue doing it. I've always meant to volunteer, but I just couldn't get myself to do it. But it's worth the time and effort. The trick is finding some place that clicks with you.

Cool deal. I've been wanting to volunteer in the world of autism. That might set me on the right path.

I see there's a lot of opportunities available in the Seattle area where I'm moving to soon. That's another motivation to get there :)
