My assessment has been updated. HF means 'high functioning'.
From my past academic history and the fact that I am verbal (more than not) one professional and some people who see me (even once)

[to unknown person watching me] "she's autistic."
reply "she seems high functioning"
reply to person [pause] "in some ways"...even when I've made no eye contact, minimally verbal, and was obviously stimming. 8O

I know high functioning has no set definition except clinically.

I don't understand functioning labels.....Everyone seems to have their own idea of what "[high/low/moderate]-functioning" means.

They are probably using the no intellectual disability criterion (based on IQ tests and/or academics) and their general impression of your behaviors to label you as high functioning autistic.
