hi there, :D i just registered to this site (which was a quite exhausting experience compared to most other sites, as
there was lots of things written in paranthesis, not organized properly, the security prompts seemed unreliable and unnecessary at best, not the best first impression to make). /rant over.

Let me introduce myself properly, as this is my first contribution to this forum;

My name is Christian. i'm 16 years old and live in denmark. i spend a lot of time on guitars, drawing and dwelling on the internet "in the wee small hours of the morning". long story short, i find a lot of things interesting. i love the idea of creating something, innovating, making something beautiful, functional, something new. i like lots of stuff.

sometimes, i feel like i'm an aspie, and other times i do not. really depends on the setting, and who i find myself in company with. i feel i do not have the same rights as others to speak freely for reasons that are unknown to me, which is immensely frustrating to me. my parents are the only people i've ever come across who does this, as soon as i open my mouth they give me that look saying "if you could just keep your mouth shut for a while", even though i don't chatter that much. as if they're trying to teach me that i simply shouldn't say anything, unless it was urgent, or really just stating the obvious, like "so, it started to rain today, huh?". (on a sidenote, my parents are on all other accounts loving and caring parents, who only wants to see me be happy, they aren't evil or anything.)

i never feel comfortable with having eye contact with someone like my parents, adults can have a very piercing look, but i don't have any issues with eye-contact when it comes to my peers, which is also often flaky, or people which i find interesting/whatever, which for obvious reasons my parents won't belive/can't understand. they both seem be affected by something similar to Aspergers, although with different values, for a lack of better words. i often find them to be atleast as bad as myself at picking up social cues, after which they just refuse to admit that they didn't realize that. in fact, i feel like the only reason i say that i'm bad socially is because i've been told so many times, and just didn't play soccer. sometimes i can do some awkward stuff, but only when i know i'll get something in return, and be able to say "well, i only did it because blablabla..." and wave them off that way.

i know nobody who are like myself. the people my own age around me all seem to care about nothing other than their narrow spectrums of interest (which for the most part is soccer or computers).

i'm one of the few lucky enough to have received support pretty much all my life. the thing is, nobody ever told me that these people were there to help me, so i never "used" them. i just took care of myself like everybody else. so i'm not very impressed with what our government calls "support for those poor helpless people in need" (not their actual words, just what i seem to pick up between the lines).

Welcome to wrong planet, the right planet for people like you. You are not alone here. There are many of us who have slipped through the cracks and struggled for years, even decades on their own before finding themselves here. Feel free to message me anytime; I'll be glad to share experiences and/or any advice, and answer any questions you may have. Welcome again!
